Ceylon OP Estate is a high-grown orange pekoe grade black tea from the tea highlands of Sri Lanka, known in the trade as Ceylon — a name retained from the island’s colonial-era identity. Orange Pekoe (OP) is a grade designation indicating whole-leaf tea with a twisted, wiry appearance, not bagged dust. Ceylon OP from estate gardens above 4,000 feet — in regions like Nuwara Eliya, Uva, and Dimbula — is prized for its bright, citrus-forward character, clean finish, and brisk, medium-bodied cup.

Ceylon tea undergoes full orthodox processing: withering, rolling, oxidation, and firing. The high altitude and cool nights slow leaf development, concentrating the flavor compounds that give Ceylon its distinctive brightness and subtle citrus note.

In the cup, Ceylon OP Estate brews a clear, bright amber-orange. The aroma is clean and slightly citrusy. The body is medium and crisp, the finish clean and brisk. It takes milk well and makes an excellent afternoon tea.

Use 2 grams per 8-ounce cup.

Best Black Tea I've purchased online. Fresh leaves, proper storage, and the flavor is incredible. The crisp comes through beautifully. Even better than what I was buying at Tazo.

Really nice Ceylon OP Estate. The clean flavor is authentic and well-balanced. I usually drink Numi tea but this compares favorably. Will definitely reorder.

Outstanding Black Tea. I served this at a brunch and three people asked where to buy it. The bright and crisp are elegant and well-balanced. Contour Coffee knows their tea.

Excellent Ceylon OP Estate — truly well-sourced. The crisp is clean and pronounced. I'm giving 4.5 only because I'm sparing with 5-star ratings. Really lovely tea worth every penny.

Solid Black Tea. Good bright character, fresh leaves, fair price. I enjoy it in the morning with a touch of honey. Only knocking a star because I wish it came in larger quantities.

Nice everyday tea. The medium-bodied is pleasant and it brews consistently well. I go through a bag every few weeks. Good quality for the price point.
